
SAN BERTINI

San Bertini (1971) was born in São Paulo, with a bachelor’s degree in visual arts by the ‘Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo’.
She started studying painting in 1982 in Penha, with the Professor and Artist César Sarau, with whom she studied with for seven years. She studied Art History, Perspective, Anatomy, and Live Model at the ‘Liceu de Artes e Ofícios’, among other studies, courses and workshops she participated in during her trajectory.
In 1995, she began her practice as a drawing and painting teacher. With almost 30 years in her career, she has participated in more than 50 solo and group shows in Brazil and around the world since 1994. She also illustrated for ‘Alquimia' magazine, the artist’s first show was during the magazine’s launch.
In her current artistic research, she approaches non-conventional themes, focusing on contemporary problems, portrayed and executed with an extreme technical manner and an overly pleasant aesthetic, balancing the harshness of the concept with the beauty of the image.
