Állisson Opitz, born in São Paulo, graduated with a bachelor's degree in architecture and urbanism at the ‘Pontifícia Universidade Católica – PUC de Campinas’.
Through years working extensively in her area of training, she went through courses and workshops, aiming to develop a deep knowledge of handicraft techniques such as mosaic, marquetry, sewing, and molding.
From 2003 to 2011, she developed ceramic pieces at the ‘Ateliê Ana Bia Borelli’. In 2010, she discovered handmade bookbinding at the “Ateliê Portfólio’, and also surface design, migrating from drawings to fabric, porcelain, and other materials.
Her last courses include: ‘Imersão Criativa’ (Creative Immersion) with the artist and designer Fabiana Queiroga, ‘Escultura em Argila’ (Clay Sculpture) courses with the sculptor Israel Kislansky, ‘Acompanhamentos Propositivos’ (Propositions accompanying) with Anelise Valls, ‘Mulheres Artistas e Feminismos’ (Women Artists and Feminisms) with Talita Trizoli in the Tomie Ohtake Institute, ‘Técnicas tridimensionais: imersão em esculturas lúdicas’ (Tridimensional techniques: sculptures immersion) with Sara Rosemberg at MCB, and ‘Arte Contemporânea e o Gesto’ (Contemporary Art and the Gestural) with Anelise Valls.
Her work is represented by many layers of her perception of the sensations and experiences she lived and lives. Observing relationships and life in society, she uses various materials in her work such as clay, with its grounding feeling even in its imperfections, the embroideries embodying the affective memory connected to the women in her family and their handmade work, the ripped cardboard, which is a worthless material with uncontrollable shapes and re-signified with gold leaves, showing how we can be affected by external factors, extraneous to our choices.
Her experience includes assemblage works in Architecture Biennials, in city parks art shows, and in the Die Tropen show in Berlin.
